Right now, I am writing this article in a beautiful resort in Tuscany, Italy. Money saved from all the cosmetics I did NOT buy certainly helped to put me here…

It really is ironic, that when I stopped and listened to myself and my body, everything changed. I discovered that my body is intelligent, and if I treat it with respect, it will tell me exactly what I need to do to achieve what I want.

These days I follow my own 3 step system and today I would like to share with you the first, and the most important part of it. Something truly life-changing in infinitely more ways than just better looking skin.

Magical Green Smoothie.

I know, I know, everybody is talking about green smoothies, but, I am not just talking about ANY green smoothie. This one is a very special one and once you know not only WHAT I put in it, but WHY, your eating habits will be changed forever…

So, I will just break it down for you and later, I will give you few great recipes which will make it a fantastic tasting treat you will look forward to every day!

1. Green Smoothie for gut clearing.

Fiber is super important to have in our diets. It not only physically cleans our intestines, but fiber is also the food for our friendly gut bacteria. If you want healthy gut, you want lots and lots of those babies!
I am sure that you already know that the best source of fiber are fresh fruit and vegetables, right?
What you might not know is that for the fiber to be the most effective, it has to be raw. Eating enough raw fiber means that you will never be constipated again! Cooking breaks a lot of it
down, making it a lot less effective.

Fiber rich food for skincare

Fruit has to be eaten on the empty stomach to do its job. When you do that, fruit has the ability to zoom right through your empty stomach and to go straight into your guts, scraping the

intestines clean with all that wonderful fiber it contains. It is so effective that when you first start eating fruit on an empty stomach, you might get really disgusting smelling stools. This is
fruit, doing it’s job, getting rid of the rotting, intestine coating junk that possibly has been there for YEARS!
Important point: When I say ‘’fruit’’, I do NOT mean ‘’fruit juice’’. Fruit juice is devoid of fiber, it is like a sugar pill, so just forget about the juices and eat ONLY whole fruit.
The AHA moment – many of us ‘’health conscious’’ people will eat a piece of fruit AFTER a meal as a dessert. But you know what? You might as well eat a piece of chocolate cake instead,
because fruit is not digested in the gut, but in the intestines. If you eat it after the meal, fruit sits on top of your food, immediately starts to ferment and it simply spoils everything you had eaten previously. You are likely to get indigestion, get bloated and pass gass excessively. So, fruit on an empty stomach in the morning is the way to go!

What do you think will happen to your skin when you clear out all that junk from inside of your gut? In case you have forgotten – our whole body is just ONE system. Skin is not designed by
nature as a beauty accessory, it is our largest organ. If your body gets detoxed, so will your skin and healthy skin = beautiful skin.

The saying that ‘’Water is life’’ is not an exaggeration. Most of our bodies are made of water and we are constantly losing it. We are encouraged to drink 2 liters of water, but if you ever tried this, have you even wandered why you seem to pee it all out? I mean, if your body needed the water THAT MUCH would it not want to keep it?

I started asking that question right after I realized that I know EXACTLY where all the public toilets are in my town. Eventually I figured out – the body is not stupid, so if it is just
getting rid of something that is meant to be so necessary, there must be a reason…

So, I did some research and found something that made a whole lot of sense to me:
The body needs the water delivered in a certain way to be able to make use of it. Enter – fruit! When you eat a piece of raw fruit on an empty stomach, the water is ‘’bound’’ in the fibers.
So, the fiber slows the passage of water through your gut giving your body some time to take it up. Think of it this way: If you pour a jug of water through a colander, it will just flow out of it immediately and few seconds later, there will be no water left in the colander. But – if you grate a bag of apples and put it into the same colander, some water will flow out, but a lot of it will be there even hours later.

Can you see the difference?

That is exactly how your body needs it’s water served. It needs to be bound in food. Fruit is the most perfect way to deliver it and if you have your green smoothie in the morning, on an empty stomach, you will not only have your intestines rejuvenated with the fiber, but also, your body will be able to take up all that hydration so you can skip drinking liters and liters of water throughout the day. My observation was that after I have my large smoothie in the morning, I do not get very thirsty nor hungry for most of the day, even on a hot day.

All that hydration also will reflect in your skin’s condition. Properly hydrated skin has a totally different look to the one with just some moisturizing cream on it. It also is a lot more resilient to a lot of skin issues…

Green smoothie for nutrients3. Green Smoothie for Nutrition.

So far, I have only spoken of fruit. So, why do the smoothies have to be green? They don’t, but including leafy greens in the smoothies gives them an extra dimension. They will give you a huge nutrition boost. Green, RAW, leafy vegetables have the same ability as fruit to just zoom through your empty stomach and get digested in the intestines.

I am pretty sure that you already know that leafy greens are really good for you, but do you eat half a bunch of spinach every day? Well, now you can. Putting green, RAW, leafy vegetables into your smoothie can not only make them wonderfully palatable, even for kids, but also, you can increase the fiber content of your smoothies even further.

Having those nutrients available right in the morning will give you a lot more energy than a cup of coffee, it will make your head clearer and make you more productive through the day. What’s not to love? Extra nutrients will of course reflect in the condition of your skin… Some Important Points to Know!

– Get your fruit and vegetables organic and as fresh as possible if you can. Green, leafy vegetables especially are notorious at losing nutrients very quickly.

I go to the farmer’s markets once a week, buy a whole heap of them, then wash them and freeze them in portions. For the rest of the week, I just take a container out, throw the contents in the blender and my smoothies are done! The easiest breakfast you can ever prepare…

Get the most out of your Green Smoothies– DO NOT use any nuts, milks, seeds, honey and anything else apart from fresh, RAW fruit and fresh, RAW green leafy vegetables. Smoothies containing nuts, seeds and honey have a different function and are more in the food arena, not detox.

– Cucumbers, avocado (they are fruit) and even celery (the stalks are considered green and leafy vegetable) are not only acceptable, but very beneficial. Cucumber and celery are deeply cleansing, avocado puts those good oils into your body aiding in the hydration of the skin.

– If your smoothie is too dense, you can add some coconut water, plain water or watermelon. NOT MILK NOR JUICES!!!!

– Spices such as cinnamon, ginger, turmeric, nutmeg etc are great!

– DO NOT have your coffee, or ‘’regular breakfast’’ straight after the smoothie. Give it at lease ½ hour to do it’s job.

Fruit and green leafy vegetables on an empty stomach…. Then at least ½ hour break and you can resume your normal life.

You will probably quickly find that once your body adjusts to this system, you will not want to eat for at least couple of hours, more likely till lunch time. After all, if your body does not need any nutrients, why would it get hungry?

During the transition time, you can also expect some detox symptoms like feeling more tired, pooping waaaaayyyy too much for your comfort, you might get couple of breakouts, the smell in the toilet….. different bodies do detox differently, but please persist. Because within a week or two, your world will change.

If you will adopt this simple habit into your morning routine, you will find that it is the easiest, fastest, most convenient thing you have ever done for yourself. It takes a lot less effort and a lot less decision making to throw couple of things in the blender than anything else. The reward will be huge. Your skin, hair, nails, moods, hormones, sleep patterns, toilet habits, productivity, outlook on life and clarity of mind will all benefit.
